This is a good angle to see the cylinder / upper engine case. Rigidity is far superiour to a cylinder that is removable.

Staggered transmission shafts allow for wider shaft centers without the motor taking up more space in the chassis
Input shaft is lower, slides into the cases through the hole. Bearing sits in collar that bolts into the cases.
Planned for this bike include the bearing carrier also locates on bolt pattern that surrounds the output shaft. Transmission cover will then tie into the chassis.
ZRX, ZZR 1200, Hyabusa and ZX12 with a seperate cylinder assembly have the upper engine cast without material around the bottom of the sleeves to accomdate the larger bores
